Health In Her Hue

The Details:

Independent contractor for Health In Her HUE Inc. as the Health Equity & Clinical operations lead primarily focusing on product development and organizational support.

My Approach:

In my work with Health In Her HUE, I integrated several keys principles to build a comprehensive, equitable foundation in product development. A primary principle was cultural humility, which I incorporated by ensuring the curriculum for the Virtual Care Squad was informed by diverse perspectives and responsive to the unique cultural contexts of Black women and women of color. I emphasized inclusivity by creating content that acknowledges systemic health disparities, striving to provide care squad members with tools to navigate and mitigate these inequities in healthcare.

Additionally, patient-centered care was central to my approach. I designed the curriculum to prioritize patients’ lived experiences, fostering trust and enabling participants to feel respected and understood. I focused on accessibility by developing resources in a way that was straightforward and practical, making information readily usable for all participants regardless of their backgrounds. Finally, accountability was an underlying value, reflected in the pre-and post-pilot surveys designed to measure the effectiveness of peer support and community engagement on health outcomes, intending to use this feedback to continuously improve program quality and impact.

The Outcome:

Successfully supported the execution and refinement of the product offering, collaborated to develop content for the start-up platform, and developed the structure of a Health Equity Pledge and call to action.
